Being "curious, not critical" means choosing self-compassion over self-criticism. When we criticize ourselves, we just feel bad. It's not motivational.
Instead, be curious. If you're doing something you don't want to do (like binge eating) or not doing something you want to do (like going to the gym or anything on your To Do list) there is always, always a reason.
When you're curious, you're more likely to figure out the reasons why. Then you can take action!
Curiosity is motivational.
